E?! Okolišni filmski festival (E?! Environmental Film Festival) was first imagined in 2014 by the Activist Group of Zelena akcija - Friends of the Earth Croatia, the biggest and oldest environmental NGO in Croatia. The aim was to bring the environmental topics closer to the new and wider public through documentary and feature films, as well as other content.

From the villages on another side of the world, small actions that result in big changes, to international contracts behind closed doors, we care about it all; we believe that environmental justice consists of ecological, social and economic justice, and that we cannot observe them individually if we want to achieve the systematic change that we advocate.

We screen films and organize discussions, workshops and related content that informs and inspires, in order to encourage critical thinking, social change, solidarity and action. Over the years the festival has expanded, attracting approximately 350 people in 3 days.

The Festival is passionately and voluntarily organized by the Activist Group, and regardless of the resources we have, the entrance to all content is and always will be free. Our primary goal is to spread awareness and mobilize, not to create profits, so - welcome!

Welcome to the Radical Frame Film Series - 2024 Short Film Series - Berlin

We at the Radical Frame Film Festival are proud to announce edition ten of Short Film Series.

The idea for the Radical Frame Film Festival started a few years ago when a group of Denver activists, artists, and friends decided to bring the messages of video activist cinema into the public eye. We feel that due to the current social and political climate, both locally and globally, our mission -- to provide a forum for thought provoking films and debates -- is more critical than ever.

We are committed to presenting progressive, leftist, radical, anti-racist, experimental, and visionary films that address issues including, but not limited to, the environment, human rights, social injustice, anti-globalization, etc…

The Radical Frame Film Festival showcases every genre of independent film from across the world during this incredible bi-continental celebration of independent artists.

The Radical Frame Film Festival is a forum where filmmakers can thrive outside the mainstream arena. Creative artists who continuously break the boundaries in film, video, art and music are promoted through this festival so they, too, have a voice in a market saturated with commercial entertainment designed to satisfy audience expectations.

The Short Film Series turns the spotlight on truly independent short films, created by new and established filmmakers
The purpose is to allow anyone regardless of country, to step to their dreams and start taking the steps to live life with passion and purpose.

The Short Film Series main focus is to be a place where emerging filmmakers and artists around the world have a shot to be discovered and fulfill their dreams.

Our Mission

We acclaim emerging directors, screenwriters and filmmakers from all over the world and amplify their work by bringing together a diverse audience to experience and reflect on it, and engage in further dialogue.

Our community exists at the intersection of a broader, more inclusive, cinematic gaze and the emergence of truly exceptional cinema.

If films are the content, Alfama is the form that sets the tone for the experiences we create. An architectural somatisation of intimacy, this is the scene in which we invite your films to make their appearance.

Our Story
in 2009 as an informal project to showcase independent cinema in the recondite alleys of Alfama, projected against its iconic stone walls.

In the following years, Cinalfama matured and became a competitive event of an international character, as well as a cultural reference in Lisbon.

The nature of the events has changed over the years, but the atmosphere, films and venues remain as intimate as they have always been.

Our Home
Founded in 1914, Grupo Sportivo Adicense is one of the oldest and most authentic remaining symbols of Alfama’s true soul.

World famous fado singers started their careers waiting tables at this historical institution – one that still stands in the face of constant change and mischaracterisation of the neighbourhood’s urban landscape

Screening Sessions

Tucked into the backstreets of Lisbon’s old town, Alfama, our intimate screenings take place in the city’s oldest cultural house, Grupo Sportivo Adicense.

We host three seasonal screening editions throughout the year, to showcase and award the best talent and films of each one. These are free entrance and all films have English subtitles.

Due to the current pandemic and associated restrictions, we have decided to host next January 2024 edition online, making available a selection of the very best films of the season. Aiming to have live screenings back real soon.
