The Icon Festival for Science Fiction, Fantasy and Role-Playing is held annually in Tel-Aviv (Israel), and runs for 3 days.
The festival's programme features film screenings, lectures, panels, workshops, original theatre productions, the occasional poetry jam, and competitions for the Israeli Science-Fiction and Fantasy loving (or curious) public to enjoy.
Icon is produced by group of non-profit organizations. These work all year round to promote the fandoms and creators of science fiction, fantasy and role-playing games, and to strive to make these genres more accessible to their audience. We also take pride in providing the stage to independent filmmakers and young authors.
The Icon Festival is a seminal cultural event, made possible due to the passion and hard work of hundreds of volunteers, from the festival director to the last but not least staff member. Their only reward is the festival itself as all income is used to pay for the facilities and cover expenses.
Organized by the Cultural centre "Svetozar Markovic" in Jagodina (Serbia) Animator fest was founded in 2013. and is supported by the Serbian Ministry of Culture and Information.
The festival is aimed at promoting the art of animation from European countries and serves as a place of gathering for young people willing to exchange and build new creative ideas.
The festival’s programme represents youth film production of schools and individual authors divided into 2 categories: authors under 15 years of age and authors 15 to 18 years old.

As an independent film-maker, you work often for a year or possibly years to direct, edit, produce a film and then comes the waiting game to be selected by a film festival.
COMMFFEST is more than a community film festival in Toronto; it is an art festival with a world perspective and I am most fortunate to have been part of the 2015 film festival programming with my documentary, "Forgotten". COMMFFEST's vision is to share stories that demonstrate the strength, struggles and beauty of humankind while providing a strong platform for independent film makers to showcase their perspective and vision of our world today and into the future. We need festivals like COMMFFEST who step away from the mainstream and champion works where the viewpoint is critical, enlightened or visionary in their approach to conflicts or issues that prevail throughout Toronto, Canada, North American and worldwide.

For me, COMMFFEST has been where my films have finally reached their maturity by connecting through the big screen with their audience. It is this connection that is essential for any artistic endeavour. As this may be the case with most other festivals, however, in my direct experience with COMMFFEST I clearly felt that each artist was given special attention, a chance to have a dialogue about their creation and ultimately was embraced in a celebration of their achievement. COMMFFEST founders and organizers are filled with the love of films and arts and clearly possess the vision and generosity to make this celebration happen every year. The programming: The films are chosen by a jury of professionals from a globally solicited call for submissions. Once chosen, the programming is created to generate discussion around specific world events and themes, provoking dialogue and acceptance of others and their concerns.

The nineth La Serena International Film Festival, FECILS, is a competitive audiovisual contest, which will take place from November 05 to 09, 2024, in the Coquimbo region. It seeks to support the production and dissemination of regional, national and Latin American audiovisual activity, and thus contribute to decentralization, promoting the meeting and training of regional filmmakers and producers. The 19th Edition of SHORTS MEXICO will be held from September 1st through the 30th 2024 in Mexico City. The National Cinematheque of Mexico is the main venue of the festival, and it amounts other important venues as CINEMEX Theaters, one of the largest cinema chains in the world, world famous Vasconcelos Library, Centro Cultural Universitario de la UNAM, CDMX´s Faros and Cultural Centers, etc. The festival amounts over 35 venues in Mexico City and holds exhibitions in every one of the 32 States of the Mexican Republic, so the event truly occurs throughout Mexico. Since the pandemic, SHORTS MÉXICO is presented in a hybrid format, holding virtual and televised exhibitions as well, having over 1 million spectators per edition.

All the selected films will be given a certificate of participation in México International Short Film Festival - Shorts México. The Mexican short films selected in any competition of the festival will be able to submit their short film to the Ariel prize of the AMACC (Mexican Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences).
International Short Animated Film Festival - ANISHORT is an international competition that serves to support the animated short films and their creators. At the same time it serves to the promotion, propagation, retrieval and watching possibilities of the best animated short films from around the world.
It should also be a place where community of creative people that producing these films meet. On the other hand, then the place for people who enjoy watching of these films and that are fans of this kind of art.
The festival will take place from 18th October 2023 in several selected cities in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Estonia and Poland.
The top 18 short animated films will compete in this competition.
The films will be judged by selected international jury. The jury is composed mostly of professionals or professions closely associated with animation - total 7 judges, each from a different country.

15th Medium-Length International Film Festival LA CABINA, taking place in València (Spain) between 8th and 18th November 2022.
This is a call for all filmmakers from Yogyakarta, well-known as Jogja, a city with a friendly population, rich in historical value, and adorned with cultural arts, batik, and handicrafts. The place where the classical Javanese art marriage with modern culture in its artworks, drama, music, puppetry.
We would like to welcome the world through the making of inspiring films and documentary created with love and passion.
We accept submissions from all over the world. Categories open are feature and short film, feature and a short documentary, screenplay, and music video. To value the hard works put on a film and documentary, we accept various film production categories and performances such as directing, cinematography, editing, performance, story, acting, sound, production design, costume design, music, etc. The festival would give separate awards if they got selected.

FESTIVAL EVENTS
Jogja International Film Festival (JIFF) will conduct a prestigious and exclusive Awards Night with the presence of kings and queens from Nusantara, filmmaking workshop, and screenings.
JIFF is working together with the Sultanate Office to conduct Royal Ceremony and to provide an opportunity for winning filmmakers to share their knowledge to hundreds of film, communication and broadcasting students in Yogyakarta.
Winning filmmakers would also be gratified to visit the famous Borobudur temple, the 9th-century Mahayana Buddhist temple and the world's largest Buddhist temple that is one of the seven wonders of the world.
