- WeCare promotes knowledge about important issues at the end of life through research, training and other social actions.
- The end of life is often identified with suffering. With this festival, we want to reflect that life can be meaningful, in all circumstances, until the end.
- For this reason, this competition aims to present the end of life as a situation in which we can find meaning. Through the short films, a voice will be given to the patients, family members and healthcare professionals who experience this situation.
- The festival will also include panel discussions between experts from different disciplines. We aim to provide information about, give greater visibility and generate debate about the end of life.
Short films that reflect the end of life from the following perspective will be admitted:
- People with advanced illnesses
- Elderly people
- People with chronic illness or physical limitations
- Children or adolescents facing the end of their life or that of those around them
- Family members, friends and caregivers
- Healthcare professionals
- Other related themes
Entries from all cinematographic genres will be accepted (documentaries, fiction, animation, experimental, etc.)

Este programa responde a la intención de abordar el papel de la Guerra civil española desde su entorno cultural, antropológico y social, con especial atención al rol de la mujer a lo largo de su evolución.
Participarán conferenciantes y ponentes en talleres, coloquios y debates a fin de sensibilizar y provocar reflexión de unos acontecimientos sobre los que todo un sector se niega a hablar. , Por ello daremos prioridad a las propuestas accesibles para personas con discapacidad sonora o visual.
Se integrará por una retrospectiva, competición y coloquios o conferencias con especialistas.
Estimulamos la participación de realizadores españoles e incentivamos la mirada de realizadores de países con baja producción o que difícilmente llegan a nuestras salas comerciales y estimulando especialmente la presencia de obras realizadas por directores jóvenes.

Each year, our festival takes place in Paris during the springtime, which is not only a beautiful season but also an exciting time of year for ÉCU, because that is when we showcase roughly around 60 of the World’s very best independent films. Although ÉCU emphasises European talent, it also recognises the genius of international filmmakers with several categories allocated to non-European films.
The next ÉCU, the 21st edition, will take place on April, 2026 in Paris, France.
ÉCU isn’t just about screening an amazing slate of films over its three-day event in Paris. There are also professional workshops led by experts in the industry, Q&A’s held with the attending filmmakers after every screening session and a chance to network with fellow filmmakers, producers, agents, industry representatives, prospective film buyers and, of course, the cinema-loving public. At ÉCU, there is a dialogue focusing on celebrating but also critiquing the world’s best indie cinema of today.
Though ÉCU’s main event IS the three-day festival in Paris each spring, there is even more! Thanks to our 50+ partner festivals, partner organisations, film centres and film commissions, ÉCU goes on an annual world tour called ÉCU-On-The-Road. This gives award-winning films (as well as many of the Official Selection films) the opportunity for their films to reach a broader, global, international audience.
ÉCU-On-The-Road showcased films in over 80 countries around the globe in 2016 to 2025 at special ÉCU mini-festivals, partner festivals, cultural institutions and film schools, including an amazing seven day special festival in São Paulo, Brazil. The event was made possible through the support of Caixa Cultural, São Paulo and was a huge success. ÉCU also held special events in Berlin (Germany), Atami (Japan) and was part of festivals in Lebanon, Italy, Russia, USA, Romania, Austria, Denmark and other countries. This gives ÉCU filmmakers great exposure to audiences that they may never have reached otherwise.
Since 2006, ÉCU has helped the careers of hundreds of independent filmmakers, actors, DPs, editors, screenwriters and we are honoured to give aspiring film directors the chance for their voices to be seen and heard.

Asian Film Centre Global Fest is an annual event designing to spot filmmaking talent and matching them with international sales agents. AFC Global Fest is all about true indie spirit. It is designed to be the bridge between independent filmmakers and international sales agents. Winning films will get a chance to be represented at global film markets.
With substantial revenue (sometimes well above 50 percent) coming from exploitation outside of a film’s home country, it is vital that producers should target and then structure deals with foreign sales agents.
What is an international sales agent?
An international sales agent is the conduit to your film’s distribution outside of its country of origin. The sales agent will acquire a set of rights from you, pitch and sell these distribution rights to potential distributors around the world, draft distribution agreements, deliver the physical and electronic materials of your film to these distributors and, finally, collect and pay the revenue due to you. An international agent will be your partner for years, helping craft the commercial life of your film on the world stage.
What is an independent cinema?
“independent cinema” as film outside the established system of filmmaking. Probably even more widely, beyond the established system of values: the experimental, low-budget, underground, various new wave, and so on.

GBFF festival takes place over several weeks starting mid-January and wrapping up March of 2018. Specially selected films have an opportunity to be played in the festival segment called "Films Around Town" (playing in various venues around town) leading up to a weekend event March 1-4, 2018 at St. Norbert College.

Corto Dorico Film Festival was created in 2004. Since then it has become one of the main Italian Film Festival primarly dedicated to short films.
The primary goal of the Corto Dorico Festival is to present an overview of the Italian short film world and its authors. The main mission of the festival is to scout, promote and support new points of views, poetics and film concepts. From classic narrative to experimental forms, from documentaries to animation and so forth, Corto Dorico is cinema without discrimination of genre and format.

Short Italian Film Competition
Is open to submissions of short films in Italian language directed by Italian citizens, residents, or individuals domiciled in Italy (Italian or non-Italian); Italian citizens resident or domiciled abroad (submitting films in a different language other than Italian) may also apply. Non-Italian citizens (resident or domiciled outside of Italy) can also submit a film as long as it has been shot in Italian language.
Amnesty International/Italy International Short Film Competition “Running Out of Rights”
This section, created in partnership with Amnesty International Italy, will accept submissions of short films of every genre that are related conventionally or less conventionally, with the themes of civil and human rights. A selection will be screened during the festival and the best short film will be honoured with the Amnesty International Italy Award.

Indie-AniFest (Korea Independent Animation Film Festival) organized by KIAFA, the Korean Independent Animation Filmmakers' Association. Indie-AniFest presents spectacular independent animated films from Korea and Asia. The festival offers a diverse range of works and opportunities for filmmakers as well as a chance to interact with audiences. We strive for the values of independence, experimentation, passion and vision by working together with independent animation directors.
The "Oregon Short Film Festival" is a showcase of independent short films from around the world for the Portland, Oregon audience in the Northwest USA. One full Saturday of 100 short films will be compiled and screened at the Avalon Theater on Blu-Ray DVD. All short films that are under 20:00 minutes in length are eligible for submission. We are looking for creative works with good acting, original ideas, fresh concepts, great production value and strong writing. The Oregon Short Film Festival is diverse accepting films from all cultures, races, religions, lifestyles and ideologies. The Oregon Short Film Festival screenings will be thought provoking, fun, colorful, passionate, action packed as well as, cutting edge and experimental. Diversity is the theme of this festival. FIDOCS, el Festival Internacional de Documentales de Santiago, es el principal espacio de encuentro, difusión y competencia del cine documental en Chile y Latinoamérica. Abocado a promover el diálogo, la reflexión y formación de audiencias en torno al cine documental en un sentido amplio y en permanente transformación, FIDOCS busca explorar los diversos caminos del cine documental y las derivas de la no ficción. Esto, incorporando en su programación obras de realizadores consagrados y emergentes, donde la pregunta por ‘lo real’ se aborda en múltiples dimensiones, tensionando géneros y fronteras disciplinarias.
A lo largo de su historia, FIDOCS se ha posicionado como uno de los festivales más destacados del género en América Latina, transformándose en un espacio privilegiado del pensamiento crítico y el cine contemporáneo. A través de su exigente selección, año a año, el festival no sólo convoca a importantes exponentes de industria audiovisual nacional e internacional, sino que se instala en la ciudad de Santiago como una plataforma para cuestionar, interpretar y reescribir el presente.
FIDOCS cuenta con tres competencias oficiales para la promoción, exhibición y posicionamiento de películas chilenas y extranjeras. Estas secciones son: COMPETENCIA INTERNACIONAL y COMPETENCIA NACIONAL, ambas de largos y mediometrajes; y COMPETENCIA NACIONAL DE CORTOS EMERGENTES.
Además FIDOCS cuenta con una principal actividad de industria, DOCS IN PROGRESS, una competencia latinoamericana de primer corte donde contamos con la participación de destacados exponentes de la industria internacional, así como con tutores nacionales e internacionale específicos (montajistas, realizadores, especialistas en sonido, productores, programadores, etc.) que retroalimentan a los equipos de cada proyecto para llevar a término la postproducción de sus películas e incentivar su difusión y comercialización. Esta sección se realiza en conjunto con la sección WIP de CHILEDOC CONECTA.
El festival cuenta también con importantes actividades de formación y extensión en su ESCUELA FIDOCS, donde se convocan alumnos de las escuelas de cine y comunicaciones de todo Chile para que sus estudiantes más destacados se encuentren en un espacio intergeneracional e interdisciplinario con diversos invitados e invitadas internacionales y nacionales del festival; asistiendo a Clases Magistrales, workshop, talleres, diálogos, entre otras.
Además, atendiendo a su vocación interdisciplinaria, FIDOCS pretende acompañar sus funciones de otras intervenciones artísticas como instalaciones, exposiciones, performances, que desde sus propios medios expresivos dialoguen con el concepto de documentalidad. Así surge la sección FIDOCS EXPANDIDO, en donde se realizan focos de diversos artistas, video-artistas y cineastas vinculados al ámbito de las artes sonoras o visuales.
Por último, las películas elegidas se exhibirán en fechas posteriores a la realización del festival, en regiones de Chile o en el exterior, en la sección LO MEJOR DE FIDOCS. La misma tiene por finalidad es la extensión cultural del festival a nivel territorial, poniendo énfasis en la circulación de las obras a nivel regional, pudiendo realizarse réplicas en el territorio nacional así como en el extranjero.

El XVI Festival de Cine: Infancia y Adolescencia -2025, es una fiesta con espacios de circulación y formación audiovisual para niños, niñas, adolescentes y jóvenes, con exhibiciones, actividades lúdicas, talleres, paneles y conversatorios, cuyo objetivo fundamental es promover a Bogotá, como ciudad pionera en América Latina en función de una infancia y una adolescencia visible, protagónica y plena de derechos a través de la construcción audiovisual. La participación es gratuita a las actividades de exhibición y circulación de contenido audiovisual.
El Certamen se realizará del 2 al 6 de septiembre de 2025.
Los niños, niñas y los adolescentes, accederán a un programa audiovisual conformado por cortometrajes nacionales e internacionales de animación y ficción, series de televisión y la categoría del “PREMIO FESTICINE” que se otorga a audiovisuales hechos por niños y niñas de Colombia. Se acompañarán con actividades lúdicas de reflexión sobre el eje temático: “CULTURA CIUDADANA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE”.
