Attention to all film talents: From 21 November 2017 until 31 January 2018, filmmakers will have the chance to apply for the LET’S CEE Short Film Competition 2018. Not only are two main prizes waiting to be won, moreover, ten finalists will receive an invitation to participate in the second edition of the LET’S CEE Talent Academy in Vienna!
Between 21 November 2017 and 31 January 2018, filmmakers up to the age of 35 from Central and Eastern Europe, the Caucasus region, Turkey and Austria will have the possibility to submit their short films to the Short Film Competition of the LET’S CEE Film Festival 2018.
However, filmmakers of all ages and from all over the world are welcome as well to send in thematically fitting contributions. Due to the festival’s geographical focus on CEE though, these short films will not be included in the main Short Film Competition, but will very well have the chance to win the Audience Award in the Short Film category and be screened at the festival in the section Short Films | Out of Competition. We furthermore cordially encourage international makers of virtual reality films, 3D productions and avant-garde pieces to apply as we will be offering these genres a stage at our festival as well.
The theme of the Short Film Competition 2018 is TOGETHER OR APART.
Great Britain voted for the Brexit last year and in doing so decided against a EU membership; most recently thousands of Catalan people went to the streets demanding independence from Spain; under the presidency of Donald Trump, the USA is seeking to withdraw from the Paris climate protection agreement and renegotiate various other commercial treaties – these are only three of many examples demonstrating the recent shift of the political mood in numerous countries. A growing migratory pressure, an increasing gap between the rich and poor, as well as justified and unsubstantiated fears – of the consequences of digitalisation, of the loss of jobs and stability and of social change – have discredited globalisation and encouraged a comeback of nationalist and isolationist tendencies, which seemed utterly unfathomable only a few years ago. Even on a national scale, societal cohesion appears to be threatened more and more. How does the growing division of society influence both the community and individuals? Will political agitation, hatred, egotism and greed for profit become the new normal? Well, the situation is critical, but not hopeless, neither on an international nor a national level. There are still representatives of the civil society who make no effort to surrender to the threatening eroding solidarity. Fortunately, there are numerous instances proving how people still advocate for the poor and disadvantaged with great optimism, dedication and empathy – people who rather pay attention to what we have in common instead of what keeps us apart.
The competition’s theme, TOGETHER OR APART, may be manifested in the submitted material in various manners and methods. Interpersonal aspects, such as family and relationship dramas, trials and tribulations, moments of success and happiness or the joint overcoming of challenges can be taken into account just as well as social, political, juridical and/or cultural matters. In other words: everything is possible, as long as it touches on the topic and is done well!
An advisory board chaired by the renowned Austrian-Iranian filmmakers Arash T. Riahi and Arman T. Riahi will choose the best contributions from the submissions for the LET’S CEE Short Film Competition. The short films, which will be screened out of competition, will be selected by the Bosnian-Dutch producer Denis Mujović and festival director Magdalena Żelasko.
After the presentation of the participating productions at the festival, an international jury will decide on the winner of the competing short films and, thus, who will be awarded the main prize – 1,500 Euro and a Urania statuette – at the Awards Ceremony in the Urania Cinema on 20 April 2018. The remaining short films presented during the festival will have, without exception, the chance to win the 1,500 Euro Audience Award in the category Short Film.
All filmmakers who will take part in the main Short Film Competition will additionally profit from their participation. At the expense of the festival, one of the involved filmmakers of each short film will be invited as an official guest*) to Vienna in order to present their work. Those persons will, furthermore, have the opportunity to join the second edition of the LET’S CEE Talent Academy.
15 remaining free seats for the Talent Academy will be filled by Out-of-Competition filmmakers. The most important items on the one-week Academy agenda include the attendance of LET’S CEE Master Classes and LET’S CEE Industry Days, the collaborative finalisation of a short film about Vienna, and the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to pitch a film idea to Raindance film festival director Elliot Grove (and win big!) at the Pitching Competition. Of course, all invited filmmakers will enjoy several Get-togethers, where they can get in touch with successful distributors, directors, producers, actors etc., exchange experiences and new ideas and thus strive to new projects and international collaborations. In order to enable as many filmmakers as possible to visit LET’S CEE and present their work to the festival audience, all participants of the section ‘Short Films | Out of Competition’ will receive free festival accreditations and discounts for the official hotel partner on request.
Experimental Forum is an international performance, film and video art festival showcasing experimental film and artists’ moving image from new directors and innovative video artists from around the globe, with the third edition taking place in Los Angeles in November 2018. Our aim is to provide a supportive platform for the exciting and challenging work that is outside the scope of mainstream film festivals and art galleries.

Negli ultimi decenni, e contemporaneamente all'emergere di nuove tecnologie che hanno finito per scansionare la maggior parte dei processi del film, il documentario ha conosciuto una crescita notoria e sistematica in tutto il mondo. Nel nostro paese, e da più di un decennio, una produzione che prima era legata quasi esclusivamente alla fiction si è arricchita di nuovi argomenti, nuovi approcci, nuove geografie, nuovi dilemmi.
È in questo contesto che FIDBA viene proposta come prima. Festival internazionale del cinema dedicato a questo genere, in cui i film con gli stessi fan - purché riteniamo che le forme e le modalità del film documentario siano diverse da quelle della fiction - possono incontrarsi e dialogare tra loro e con il pubblico. Se il documentario è un punto d'incontro per la FIDBA, lo è nella misura in cui propone un'interpellanza alle memorie poco conosciute, inquietanti presenti e (nostro) futuro sospesi. FIDBA sarà quindi un approccio non solo tra pubblico, registi e pensatori legato al documentario, ma anche in relazione alle possibilità sempre stimolanti che consentono di aprire questo spazio ad altre espressioni di confine ed eterodosse incorniciate all'interno di ciò che chiameremmo «saggistica» e che ci incoraggiano a dialogare con espressioni contemporanee che vanno oltre lo scopo del film.
La FIDBA presterà particolare attenzione a quei registi per i quali il cinema è legato a una forma di ricerca e conoscenza del mondo che ci circonda per quanto riguarda il ritratto di esseri umani le cui condizioni di vita, in determinati contesti storici e sociali, ti permettono di chiederci informazioni sul nostro. Sono quindi autori che non solo riflettono la realtà, ma anche il rapporto etico e morale che implica filmare l'altro.
FIDBA mira a diventare un punto di supporto per i registi che cercano di ampliare la percezione della realtà e per i film che rappresentano un passo avanti nello sforzo di comprenderla e anticiparla. Quindi, si concentrerà su film la cui originalità estetica mette a rischio non solo un'idea del documentario, ma anche un pensiero sullo stesso film e sulle sue possibilità. Poiché questa attenzione implica mettere in discussione lo status del fronte reale della macchina da presa o del film rispetto alla realtà, ciò è altrettanto inseparabile dalle mediazioni che ne derivano.

Every year, over the course of three days, this unique Vermont event celebrates emerging filmmakers worldwide. Scout honors the passions, talents and accomplishments of youth by showcasing the efforts young storytellers have made in original filmmaking. Scout is an event to enjoy the art of film and storytelling through the lens of our energetic next generation.
During Scout Film Festival budding filmmakers will come together with their peers and industry professionals to share, appreciate and hone their craft. Lanciato nel 1980, il nostro festival, il primo della sua categoria in Corea del Sud, è cresciuto e si è evoluto dal Korean Short Film Festival, al Busan Asian Short Film Festival nel 2000 e infine al Busan International Short Film Festival nel 2010 (www.bisff.org).
In programma alla fine di aprile al Busan Cinema Center, BISFF offre una dozzina di premi in tre sezioni competitive (Concorso internazionale, Concorso coreano e Operation Kino) e presenta anche diverse sezioni curate e non competitive tra cui: Guest Country, Korean Shorts, Asian Shorts, Prism, 3D Cinema, ecc.
BISFF è membro della Short Film Conference (http://shortfilmconference.com/) e del NETPAC (Network for the Promotion of Asia Pacific Cinema https://netpacasia.org). Nel 2018, è diventato il primo festival di qualificazione agli Oscar® della Corea del Sud.
Stiamo cercando film che siano stati censurati, vietati o che abbiano trovato barriere da esporre per motivi politici, sociali, aziendali, religiosi, tra gli altri, in qualsiasi parte del mondo e negli ultimi due anni.
Censurados Film Festival è un festival cinematografico che diffonde e rende visibile «il cinema che non vogliono che tu veda». Con sede in Perù, il festival si impegna per la libertà di espressione, i diritti umani e la diversità attraverso la proiezione di film e l'organizzazione di attività artistiche ed educative. Durante l'evento cinematografico, viene creato anche uno spazio di dialogo sulla censura in cui la diversità di voci, espressioni artistiche e idee può trovare un posto dove coesistere ed esprimersi liberamente.

CATEGORIE DI FILM
1. Concorso di censura. Film di finzione, documentari, di animazione e/o sperimentazione cinematografica provenienti da qualsiasi parte del mondo che sono stati censurati a causa di pressioni o interessi politici, religiosi, aziendali, autoritari o sociali, tra gli altri, o che sono stati vittime di minacce e/o violenze, sia durante le indagini, la produzione o la realizzazione, sia durante la loro esposizione e/o distribuzione. È un requisito essenziale fornire informazioni dimostrabili sulla censura, la minaccia, la pressione o la violenza che il film ha subito. Verranno premiate due forbici, una per ciascuna delle seguenti categorie:
Forbici per il miglior lungometraggio censurato (durata: +30 minuti).
Forbici per il miglior cortometraggio censurato (Durata: -30 minuti).
2. Concorso internazionale. Film di finzione, documentari, animazione e/o sperimentazione cinematografica provenienti da qualsiasi parte del mondo, tranne il Perù, che affrontano esteticamente e discorsivamente questioni di censura e/o libertà ed espressione artistica. Nessun limite di durata.
3. Concorso peruviano. Film peruviani di finzione, documentari, animazione e sperimentazione cinematografica senza limiti di durata che affrontano in modo formale e discorsivo questioni politiche, sociali e culturali con libertà creativa. Per il film vincitore verrà offerto un premio di 1.500 Soles.
Le stagioni 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 e 8 del Chambal International Film Festival sono state un grande successo.
Nella prima stagione, sono stati presentati 316 film da 28 Paesi e 160 film sono stati selezionati per la proiezione. Anche l'ingresso ufficiale dell'India agli Academy Awards «Harishchandrachi Factory» (2009) è stato proiettato con particolare attenzione nella prima stagione.
Nella seconda stagione, sono stati presentati 492 film da 35 Paesi e 243 film sono stati selezionati per la proiezione. L'ingresso ufficiale dell'India agli Academy Awards 'Court' (2015) è stato inoltre proiettato con particolare attenzione nella seconda stagione.
Nella terza stagione, sono stati presentati 604 film da 40 Paesi e 398 film sono stati selezionati per la proiezione. Il film ufficiale dell'India agli Academy Awards 'Shwaas' (2004) è stato inoltre proiettato con particolare attenzione nella terza stagione.
Nella quarta stagione, sono stati presentati 701 film da 54 Paesi e 464 film sono stati selezionati per la proiezione.
Nella quinta stagione, sono stati presentati 809 film da 63 Paesi e 494 film sono stati selezionati per la proiezione.
Nella sesta stagione, sono stati presentati 903 film da 71 Paesi e più di 300 film sono stati selezionati per la proiezione.
Nella stagione 7, sono stati presentati 1007 film da 82 Paesi e più di 250 film sono stati selezionati per la proiezione. Il Presidente di Loksabha, Hon'ble Mr. Om Birla Sir, ha inaugurato la cerimonia di apertura.
Nella stagione 8, sono stati presentati 1104 film da 93 Paesi e più di 250 film sono stati selezionati per la proiezione.

Il Chambal International Film Festival, in India, è una piattaforma in cui i registi avranno l'opportunità di mostrare il loro talento a un vasto pubblico amante del cinema. I membri onorevoli della giuria, il signor Sayeed Quadri (famoso paroliere), il signor Kshitij Tarey (famoso cantante e compositore musicale) e il signor Ranjan Das (eminente editore e scrittore) dell'industria cinematografica indiana sono nomi rinomati. Anche il defunto Suresh Naik (direttore della fotografia e coordinatore degli effetti speciali con grande esperienza) faceva parte della giuria.
