With more than twenty years of history, it has become a strategic meeting point for international filmmakers, producers, distributors, and programmers, consolidating Cuenca as an epicenter of cinema in Latin America.
Throughout its history, the FICC has featured important figures, names that reaffirm the festival's mission to build bridges between the global industry and local narratives.
In 2022, the festival expanded its reach with the creation of Shortfest Cuenca, a platform specialized in short films that functions as a laboratory for narrative innovation and the discovery of new talent, thus consolidating its role in the international film ecosystem.

The Itinerant Cinema in Mi Barrio festival is consolidated as a vital platform for the dissemination of national short films in the department of Cauca, giving audiences from various subregions the opportunity to enjoy cinema on a giant screen. The 2024 call is open to short films that, due to their narrative proposal, stand out and have the potential to reach diverse audiences.
Cinematographic works may address free themes, with special attention to aspects such as the environment, human rights, creativity and youth, arts and cultures, thus reflecting the richness of Colombian biodiversity.
This year, the festival's itinerant route begins in the Cauca Pacific, with stops in Timbiquí and Guapi. The mobile room will then move to the south, to the lands of Patía, and later to the north in Santander de Quilichao, in the Valles del Cauca. You will also visit the east of Tierra Distancia, known for its hidden treasures.
The festival will have special programming during the central week in Popayán, Cauca, where additional activities will be developed, including workshops, talks and official exhibitions. This itinerant not only seeks to showcase short films, but also promote dialogue and cultural exchange, reaffirming the festival's commitment to promoting national cinema locally and internationally.

*About the festival
The year 2016 marked the commencement of a new tradition in the city of Miraj, as the first ever Miraj International Short Film Festival(MISFF) was held in February 2016.
It was for the very first time a festival of such kind and magnitude was being held here. To bring back the fading lime light, bestow the truly deserved recognition of the city and safeguard the city’s rich heritage was the sole purpose of organizers and the festival directors.
It seems art does not have language, it neither minds borders nor race, and it rather came true at the film festival. Films from different states of the country and across the globe participated in the festival and proudly took back prizes from our soil, entwining with us, a lifelong relation. We are now reaching to you with the second edition of the MISFF only to join more people in our initiative and inspire the youth of today in the art of film making. We aim to recognize the smallest glimpse of a filmmaker and avail them a platform to showcase their talent. Come; let’s get mesmerized in this beautiful carnival of art.
*About the City
Miraj- a city that can be defined in a single word: Art! The city adorned with a crown of art and music. They say art runs in the blood and it couldn’t be truer for this city. The hometown of percussion and stringed instruments, a rich heritage of classical music and a tradition of theater and dramas dating back to the independence struggle. The land gave birth to many artist.
Experimental Forum is an international performance, film and video art festival showcasing experimental film and artists’ moving image from new directors and innovative video artists from around the globe, with the third edition taking place in Los Angeles in November 2018. Our aim is to provide a supportive platform for the exciting and challenging work that is outside the scope of mainstream film festivals and art galleries.
We welcome experimental cinema pieces (abstract, narrative or documentary), video art works, essay films, artists’ moving image and media art, as well as documentary and narrative films that seek to expand, redefine or reconfigure the means and ends of their respective fields. Experimental Forum exists to provide access to, and develop audiences for, artists’ moving image work and is committed to engaging local audiences with new and/or unheard voices in film.
We are particularly interested in works made by early stage filmmakers and artists whose work is underrepresented. We provide a collaborative platform for moving image works made for the gallery and for the cinema with the aim of building a community across disciplinary and institutional faultlines.

WHAT YOU MUST DO:
GIVE US THE SCREENER DOWNLOAD ACCESS LINK! It is very IMPORTANT
Festivals need access to films to be able to screen films. Without films screenings at festivals cannot take place. Hence, for participation we need the screener. Due to past bad experience, the data's long travelling distance from one continent to other during playback of films "on the fly" for example European in excess of 10,000km distance away from Australia, continuous and frequent frame freezes ocured during the event, the movies keeps stopping and starting as there was no continuous connection, low bandwidth and relatively slow speed (Australia has a slower internet than many countries around the world). Its a fact.
Nobody wants to watch a film that keeps stopping and starting.
This kind of technical glitch makes some films unwatchable, if played back from Vimeo, Festhome listing platform. Hence a screener download is a MUST be provided so it an be watched flawlessly, without interruptions, and without getting skipping, lagging frames etc. Thank you for your understanding. CIFF Admin

We are strong advocates and promoters of peace, love, friendship and mutual respect. One of very few festivals, if not the only one, to guaranteed acceptance, entry and certification for every filmmaker! Over 5324 filmmakers were rewarded in the past 8/9 years!
Dedicated mainly for international entries who would like to showcase their work to the Australian audience. Offering a transparent and culturally un-biased selection. Opening the door to those who normally get rejected or are unfairly disqualified based on difference in culture.
Local Australian filmmakers, based within our shores or outside can also participate.
We acknowledge that there are many more options available to local filmmakers, we noted in the past that many Australian films also do not get any or the right recognition and acceptance from local film festivals. They ought to be recogised. Even if there are better quality with larger budgets films entered from overseas. We would still like to reward everyone for their hard work, and creative nature.
