Chhayanat Film and Theatre Festival

Kolkata, India

Founded within the cultural heartbeat of Jadavpur University, Chhayanat has evolved into India’s largest student-run film and theatre festival — a platform where art and rebellion, screen and
stage, intellect and emotion converge.

Over the years, it has hosted National Award–winning filmmakers, international screenings, industry panels, and global student collaborations — from France to South Korea, Brazil to Spain —
making it a truly cross-continental dialogue on storytelling and truth.

At its core, Chhayanat stands for freedom of expression and the power of collective imagination. It celebrates the voices that resist convention, amplify diversity, and reflect the changing faces of our society. Each frame, each performance, each conversation here becomes part of a larger movement — one that reminds us that stories can still move nations, minds, and markets alike.

In 2026, as Chhayanat enters a new chapter, we invite our partners and patrons to become part of this living, breathing cinematic revolution — where every reel, every note, every act becomes a
memory that outlives the screen.

The III SEA FILM FESTIVAL will be held from 20 to 26 April 2026 in the town of Marín.

The Cultural Association for a Sea Museum for Marín is the organizing entity of this festival. Since its creation, the Marin Sea Museum has had as one of its main objectives the recovery of the seafaring identity of the town of Marín, as well as the conservation and dissemination of the cultural heritage linked to the sea, maritime and seafaring culture, especially among the new generations. On the other hand, the Galician language is an indissoluble part of our culture. Language and the sea are two fundamental elements to understand and disseminate our identity. Therefore, the Sea Film Festival is fully within the objectives of the Marin Sea Museum.

The Cine do Mar Festival promotes the appreciation of the sea as an ecosystem and awareness of the importance of its protection and conservation, as well as the dignity of trades related to the sea and the recognition of people who have dedicated and dedicate their lives to work both at sea and on land directly or indirectly linked to the world of fishing and shellfishing.

The Cine do Mar Festival is an event that promotes creation in the Galician language and contributes to the promotion, dissemination and defense of the Galician language, encouraging the normalization of the use of Galician in cultural activities. Among its main objectives are to promote the use of the Galician language among the population, particularly among children and youth; as well as the promotion of artistic creation in the audiovisual field in the Galician language aimed at children and youth, age ranges where Galician has less use and prestige.

The Cultural Association for a Sea Museum for Marín is calling for the third edition of this festival.

Bendita Tú FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL DE CINE

Bendita Tú is a film festival with a feminist and queer perspective, dedicated to the exhibition of audiovisual works, based in Spain and Argentina.

Conceived as a space for encounter and reflection, the festival seeks to build community and to give visibility to works by women directors, trans women, and non-binary people from around the world. Our curatorial line—situated and affective—is oriented toward experimental proposals in non-fiction, essay film, video art, and hybrid formats that are often left out of traditional exhibition and distribution circuits.

Likewise, we understand programming as a territory of dialogue: we articulate relationships between emerging works and films by established women directors in order to expand possibilities of interpretation, activate new forms of reception, and deepen a transfeminist aesthetic that destabilizes hegemonic ways of seeing.

At Bendita Tú, we work toward building networks among people and diverse territories, guided by an intersectional feminism that informs our curatorial decisions and reinforces our commitment to a plurality of voices, experiences, and ways of making cinema.
