Il Prokuplje Short Film Festival, fondato nel 2011, è il festival cinematografico più giovane della Serbia. A Prokplje c'è un evento in cui il pubblico può vedere il meglio del settore del documentario, della sperimentazione, dell'animazione e della fiction di tutto il mondo. Migliaia di film da tutto il mondo arrivano all'indirizzo del festival, e lo ha dimostrato il numeroso pubblico di Prokuplje, ma anche di altre città della Serbia e della regione, perché il team organizza un tour in cui i migliori film vengono presentati in oltre 30 città. La mancanza del cinema, così come la mancanza di un film come materia scolastica, impedisce ai giovani di conoscere quest'arte.
Per vedere qualcosa di questo tipo, i giovani devono andare a Nis o anche a Belgrado. Questa è l'occasione per vedere a Prokuplje le ultime realizzazioni di cortometraggi provenienti da tutto il mondo. Negli ultimi anni, secondo una ricerca, c'è un calo della partecipazione del pubblico ai festival di tutto il mondo. Per questo motivo e grazie all'introduzione del film ai giovani, abbiamo portato il lavoro con loro, in tutte le scuole primarie e secondarie, che sono un pubblico potenziale e saranno animate dalla presentazione dei film dei festival e dalla discussione sul significato del Festival. Oltre a lavorare con i giovani di Prokuplje, il Film Club Prokuplje è il primo a iniziare ad animare il pubblico delle aree rurali, che sono completamente escluse da tutti gli eventi, in particolare da quelli culturali.
Festival fondato dal Consiglio regionale di Kharkiv nel 2009.
La missione del Festival è quella di trovare e sostenere studi e club per bambini/giovani, impegnati nella creatività cinematografica e televisiva, bambini di talento; sviluppo del cinema e della televisione per bambini/giovani in Ucraina.
Gli obiettivi del Festival sono:
— l'instaurazione e lo sviluppo di contatti tra studi per bambini/giovani, lo scambio di esperienze e l'ulteriore sviluppo professionale dei partecipanti;
— comunicazione al grande pubblico di opere e progetti interessanti ed eccezionali provenienti da diversi paesi, presentazione delle migliori pratiche globali nello sviluppo dell'industria cinematografica e televisiva per bambini/giovani;
— l'allestimento di piattaforme creative e di comunicazione per scambiare esperienze e presentare nuovi progetti durante il Festival e tra i tempi del Festival;
— sviluppo personale creativo, educazione dei valori morali e attivismo sociale;
— richiamare l'attenzione delle organizzazioni governative, non governative e degli enti commerciali sulle questioni relative allo sviluppo della creatività dei bambini/giovani dello schermo, sui processi di formazione della personalità attraverso la ricezione di informazioni trasmesse dai mass media elettronici, sulle esigenze dei club creativi per bambini/giovani, lo sviluppo di bambini di talento e il loro futuro.
Il Festival si svolge tra televisione per bambini/giovani, animazione, studi cinematografici e radiofonici, club, gruppi e autori individuali, emittenti televisive e radiofoniche ed enti di produzione creativa, registi e centri di produzione, che producono programmi e film per bambini e giovani.
KloosterKino is the place to be for animated shorts in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. Three times a year we show the best animated shorts from all over the world in a friendly setting. The screenings take place in a historic cloister, which dates back to 1909, and are not subject to admission.
KloosterKino shows work by young filmmakers, but also pays attention to classic animated film. Throughout the year we also work with other festivals and cultural organizations to arrange screenings of animated shorts.
But why animated shorts? Well, first of all, because we love them! But also because too few animated shorts are shown theatrically in the Netherlands. KloosterKino wants to show animation in all its diversity: from stop-motion to CGI, from narrative to abstract, homegrown and from far away. In doing so, we hope to aid in the diffusion of the artistic animated short.
We intend to be an alternative to the larger animation festivals by offering screenings which are both accessible and challenging. We stand for high quality animated film in welcoming surroundings. Our target audience is not just the animation aficionado, but also those who normally don’t watch animation, but are open to a surprising and stimulating program of films.
KloosterKino is a nonprofit foundation, that depends on volunteers and gifts.
BuSho (Budapest Short) was established in the autumn of 2004 by a group of young Hungarian filmmakers and the first event successfully ran its course the following year. The festival became an international breakthrough in an exceptionally short period of time. We had plenty of festival screenings, selections of film academies, conferences, exhibitions, film-, and all-art workshops in the program. Our main target group is the generation of developing young filmmakers but we are very delighted at every entry. This film celebration takes place in Budapest in the late summer of 2019.

The DC Shorts Film Festival showcases one of the largest collection of short films in the USA. In 2015, we screened 125 films from 26 countries in 17 unique showcases over 11 days to audiences of more than 9,000 people.
The festival has been named as the “Coolest Short Film Festival” by MovieMaker Magazine, and is a three-time winner of the Washington City Paper’s “Coolest Short Film Festival” contest/award. The 11-day event (September 8-18, 2016) includes film screenings, Q&As, filmmaker workshops and parties in locations throughout the Washington, DC metropolitan area, and online through the secure DC Shorts Online Film Festival.

Over the years and with the support of multiple public and private entities, CINEFIESTA became one of the most important Short Film Festivals in America, and it would not be an exaggeration to say that it is one of worldwide relevance.
Leiden International Short Film Experience (LISFE) is an annual film festival held in the beautiful city of Leiden in The Netherlands. LISFE is dedicated to Short Films from all genres and from anywhere in the world. Over the years we have built the reputation of successfully showcasing though-provoking films through a diverse and selective program.
This year the festival will take place from the 7th until the 10th of May in Kijkhuis (Leiden).

CRONOGRAF Festival is at the moment the only international documentary film festival in Moldova and it is organized in Chisinau starting 2001. This event came into existence at the initiative of a young group of Moldavian filmmakers that were organized within OWH Studio. Their aim was to animate the cultural life in the Republic of Moldova and to bring closer to the local public the latest documentaries from all over the world.
IDFF CRONOGRAF has reached the 12th edition. The festival has a great popularity and an international reputation, especially in the South-East Europe, being among the most important film events. Every year the number of films in the contest increases, as a proof that the festival has aroused the interest of documentarists around the world. CRONOGRAF is an opportunity for the local filmmakers to stand out of the crowd as well as a gateway to the world news in this genre.
IDFF RONOGRAF is a cultural and complex event that includes film screenings within the competition, press conferences with the participation of film personalities, round tables on different topics related to cinematographical life, thematic screenings out of competition, workshops for young filmmakers and film premieres.
At CRONOGRAF, documentary filmmakers around the world have the opportunity to meet and promote their works in a new space, a space for cultural interferences, a place where the East (especially the former Soviet area) meets the West and other globe meridians.
CRONOGRAF is beloved by filmmakers most of all for its friendly, informal and hospitable atmosphere, that enables people to meet and approach in the prospect of collaboration or common projects. The Festival has five sections.
Main Section
The Main Section is opened to creative documentaries from all over the world with no restriction on theme. No corporate, industrial or commercial films are accepted.
cadRO Section
CadRO Section was launched in 2007 and has become a traditional element within IDFF CRONOGRAF. Romanian authors as well as foreign authors are invited to participate with documentaries about Romanians and Romanian communities around the world. CadRO Section, unique in its specific on the world film festivals list, offers an overview of the life and destiny of people that call themselves Romanians, wherever they are.

This section is opened for works produced by local independent video production studios, local TV channels and productions of independent filmmakers.

Is the space for documentaries about republic of Moldova realized by foreign filmmakers.

PEOPLE'S FILM FESTIVAL is a competition and the highest award from the community
rural to filmmakers from around the world. Films presented an
anti-mainstream films choice of rural communities that are not familiar and rarely watch movies.
The film festival aims to bring more information to the rural communities of knowledge,
thought, culture and social of various countries in the world through the medium of film.

During its 22nd edition, Capalbio hosted the first Sundance Institute Screenwriters Workshop as an European exclusive.
Year 4 is on the way! The film industry of Philadelphia has come together to make this city an active spot for HORROR shorts from around the world to be screened and celebrated. Philadelphia has one HUGE thirst for horror flicks and Average Superstar Films has stepped up and lead the way for this massive event. This event truly gives both local and international filmmakers their due. It is held at the world famous Trocadero Theatre in Philadelphia. With a $60,000 sound system, and a FULL screen, the theater seats up to 600 movie-goers. This years event will run 10 hours, with a big networking party going on in the lobby area. News outlets and press are active at this event. Celebrities and horror movie Icons from all walks of life have shown up at this event. Last year we members of The Howard Stern Show on hand. Along with Lloyd Kaufman and The Angry Video Game Nerd. We are only accepting online screeners. There are a variety of ways to submit your screener to us (YouTube, Vimeo (FAVORED) , or through one of the online submission services.). This will SAVE YOU MONEY! These events are 21 and up.

Questo evento è completato da repertorio e proiezioni speciali. Il 22° Cine Las Americas International Film Festival (CLAIFF22) si è svolto dal 1 al 5 maggio 2019 ad Austin, in Texas. Oltre ad accogliere oltre 3.000 spettatori per film ed eventi speciali, CLAIFF22 ha proiettato 114 titoli; queste selezioni hanno rappresentato la partecipazione di 25 paesi alla produzione o alla coproduzione dei progetti, tra cui Argentina, Australia, Bolivia, Brasile, Canada, Cile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Repubblica Dominicana, Ecuador, Francia, Germania, Giordania, Messico, Paesi Bassi, Perù, Portogallo, Qatar, Spagna, Repubblica araba siriana, Regno Unito, Uruguay, Stati Uniti e Venezuela.

Il Lucca Film Festival è un evento annuale che celebra e promuove la cultura cinematografica.
Attraverso proiezioni, mostre, conferenze e performance, il Festival è riuscito a conquistare un pubblico sempre più numeroso grazie a un programma che spazia dal cinema sperimentale a quello mainstream. Nel corso degli anni, il Lucca Film Festival si è ritagliato una propria identità, distinguendosi dagli altri festival grazie a una programmazione audace e al tempo stesso curata nei minimi dettagli.
Nel tempo, grandi nomi del cinema internazionale e celebrità di fama mondiale hanno partecipato al Lucca Film Festival come ospiti: David Lynch, Oliver Stone, Jeremy Irons, Willem Dafoe, George Romero, Terry Gilliam, William Friedkin, Alfonso Cuarón, John Boorman, Rutger Hauer, Joe Dante, Aleksandr Sokurov, Susan Sarandon, Gabriele Salvatores, Ethan Hawke, Paul Schrader e Peter Greenaway, solo per citarne alcuni. Allo stesso tempo, il Festival ha dedicato retrospettive a “vecchie” glorie e ha saputo scoprire nuovi talenti. A completare il tutto, la splendida cornice della città di Lucca rende questo evento un appuntamento ormai consolidato, molto atteso e imperdibile in Italia e in Europa: il Lucca Film Festival.
Sin dalla sua nascita, il festival si è impegnato nella promozione del cinema contemporaneo. Per questo motivo, registi da tutto il mondo possono iscrivere i loro film alla sezione competitiva del festival tramite l’apposita call for entries. L’edizione 2026 del Lucca Film Festival si terrà dal 26 settembre al 4 ottobre.
Il Lucca Film Festival comprende tre concorsi: il Concorso Internazionale di Lungometraggi, il Concorso Internazionale di Cortometraggi e il Concorso di Cortometraggi “Lucca Film Festival for Future”.
Il 2026 segnerà la 22ª edizione del Concorso Internazionale di Lungometraggi. Nelle precedenti edizioni, importanti personalità del cinema come Cristi Puiu, Rutger Hauer, Philip Groening, Claudio Giovannesi, Daniele Ciprì, Massimo Gaudioso, Massimo Cantini Parrini e Lina Nerli Taviani hanno fatto parte della giuria internazionale.
I film presentati in questa competizione sono anteprime italiane e l’ultima edizione è stata vinta da The Cage Is Looking for a Bird di Malika Musaeva.
Sono previsti quattro premi:
Miglior lungometraggio (3000 €), assegnato da una giuria composta da ospiti illustri del mondo cinematografico e accademico;
Premio Università al miglior lungometraggio, assegnato da una giuria universitaria;
Premio del Pubblico al miglior lungometraggio;
Premio Marcello Petrozziello.
Per chi fosse interessato a partecipare, il termine ultimo per le iscrizioni è il 15 luglio 2026, entro la mezzanotte.
Non vi sono limitazioni di genere o tema. Gli unici requisiti sono: durata minima di 60 minuti, film non proiettati prima del 1° gennaio 2026 e anteprime italiane, quindi non devono essere stati presentati in altri festival italiani, né resi disponibili su piattaforme online aperte o distribuiti in Italia.
Per il ventisettesimo anno consecutivo si terrà il concorso storico dedicato ai cortometraggi, il cui vincitore riceverà un premio di 1000 €.
Ogni anno la commissione di selezione valuta oltre 500 film. Tra i registi che hanno partecipato alle edizioni precedenti figura anche Adan Jodorowsky, figlio del celebre cineasta cileno.
I cortometraggi non hanno limitazioni di genere o tema; l’unico requisito è che non superino i 29 minuti di durata. Anche per questo concorso, il termine per le iscrizioni è il 15 luglio 2026, entro la mezzanotte.
Giunge alla sua seconda edizione il nuovo concorso di cortometraggi “Lucca Film Festival for Future”, nato grazie alla collaborazione con il Gruppo Sofidel, secondo produttore europeo e settimo al mondo nel settore della carta per uso igienico e domestico (noto in particolare per il marchio Regina). Sofidel ha fatto della sostenibilità una leva strategica di sviluppo e crescita responsabile, impegnandosi a ridurre il proprio impatto sul capitale naturale e a favorire la transizione verso un’economia a basse emissioni di carbonio.
L’elenco dei film selezionati sarà pubblicato sul sito del festival entro il 10 settembre 2026. Durante il festival, i film saranno proiettati nei cinema aderenti e resi disponibili anche on demand.
