Mexico, Mexico

Axolotl Film Festival of Mexico City with Cactus Films invite Mexican and international filmmakers residing in and outside the country to participate in its second edition to be be held from the 9th to the 13th of November, 2016 in the windows of different shops on the main streets of the Historical Center of Mexico City.

The shop windows are natural screens, generally disregarded, ready to present and recreate our lives and experiences in Mexico City. Commercial establishments are no longer meeting places for citizens and, conversely, are spaces that separate us. We believe that cinema can generate and promote a sense of community among the residents and the visitors of the city.

All participating short film and video need to reference, in their subject matter, characters, settings and/ or storyline, to Mexico City. The short films could have been produced in Mexico City, in other states or abroad.

Twister Alley International is a unique film festival run by filmmakers...for filmmakers. After screening at hundreds of film festivals, seeing the good and the bad, Twister Alley Festival Directors Josh Hope & TJ Treece are proud to bring their favorite indie films from across the globe back home to NW Oklahoma by designing a film festival that provides the perfect setting for both filmmakers and movie fans alike. With complimentary food, airport shuttle & lodging expenses for screening filmmakers, a jury loaded with working filmmakers and actors and all film screenings on the big screen at the beautiful and historic Woodward Theater, Twister Alley sets itself apart from the mass of tired film festivals by putting the filmmaker first.

It made the experience all that better because we didn't have to worry about anything other than representing our films and having an awesome time." Chris Holder...Actor...The Life and Death of an Unhappily Married Man

"I've been to several festivals myself, and I can tell you, this was by far the best film festival I have ever attended. PERIOD." David Bryant Perkins...screenplay finalist

"Twister Alley was hands down the best festival I've been to (not exaggerating!) I've never been treated so well for merely having a little short film showing in a sea of films." Anthony Stratton...Actor...Nesting Grounds

"Going to Woodward was one of the best film fest experiences I've ever had. The town was very cordial and it's only going to get bigger and better from here." Tom Radovich...Producer...Nobody

-Finn Taylor, Director Unleashed & 3 Time Director Sundance Film Festival

"Can't say enough about how wonderful SBE's Hamilton International Film Festival has been. Truly honored to have our film "My Hero" included and I want to thank Grant & Todd Slater and everyone else involved for such a great experience. Just amazing.
Hope you'll have us back next year!"

- Loring Murtha, Actor/Director My Hero

"SBE’s Hamilton International Film Festival presents an incredible opportunity to network with other ambitious filmmakers, exchange ideas and fundraising strategies while experiencing the charm of Hamilton, New York. The Hamilton Theater is a gorgeous venue and Grant Slater has put together a 5 star festival with a great selection of film, food and local beers. This is a must-attend festival that offers more than just frivolous laurels to it’s filmmakers… one could say that you leave Hamilton with a new group of friends that offer a different perspective on making and watching movies!"

-D.J. Higgins Director, Writer/Producer Meet Mario

"The charm and intimacy of the Hamilton International Film Festival makes it a MUST for all filmmakers. Grant and Todd Slater and the entire Hamilton community couldn't be more hospitable. I can't wait to make another film just so I can come back!!"

-Doug Dearth, Producer/Director Underdogs

"It was an absolute honour to be part of such a well respected film festival. Thanks to the help, hard work and commitment from SBE my career in the UK has gone from strength to strength. My Single, Worry hit the iTunes Download chart and peaked at Number 6. The follow up track I've recently released has hit the viral UK Top 50 on Spotify and we have now put a European Tour together. Its thanks to people such as Grant believing in me from an early stage of my development that has helped me get to where I am now."

International Moustache Film Festival

Portland, United States

Some call it the “Lady Tickler,” “Lip Spinach,” or even, the “Cookie Duster.” Formally, it is known simply as “The Moustache.” In all of its forms it represents a man’s individuality and inner strength. Whether a full, furry and lustrous lip warmer or a smooth, sleek line of suave sophistication weaving it’s way across a dude’s upper lip, a man’s Moustache is an indication of his robust heart and the very soul of his being.

As part of the annual Facial Hair Fest—a celebration of facial hair in Portland, Maine—we are now looking for submissions for the International Moustache Film Festival (IMFF). Films will be screened in several venues throughout the week of March 21 through March 28, 2015,.

The Facial Hair Fest features all sorts of delightfully hairy good times, including the 8th annual Stache Pag (a moustache pageant), the Facial Hair Farmers Market, the Can-Am Beard and Moustache Competition, and of course, the IMFF. A number of IMFF screening blocks will be held, each dedicated to a different kind of stache. And despite the official name of the festival, beards are welcome. They are, after all, the less refined cousin to the moustache.

Films will be selected based on two criteria. First, we want good films. Second, we want films that highlight conspicuous, outstanding, and awesome facial hair. It's that simple.

Past years have seen the IMFF covered in the global press, including: Movie|Line, EW.com, The Guardian, BBC, Reuters, The Huffington Post, Boston.com, Yahoo.com, The Times of India, Buenos Aires Herald, DownEast Magazine, The Tribune, American Mustache Institute, The Beard Club and Stuff.Co.NZ.

Have a main character with a nice stache? Send us your film.

A documentary about hippies with beards? That's good to.

A film about Salvador Dali or Jesus? Totally qualifies.

A film about any of the following:
Hippies. Prophets. Musicians. Mountain Men. Cops. Robbers. Firemen. Old Fashioned Strong Men. Cowboys. NFL Quarterbacks. Private Investigators. Scientists. Political Leaders. Pirates. Canadians. Wizards. Dwarves. Dads. Cavemen. You. Your friends. Your enemies.

So send us some films, and please consider attending the International Moustache Film Festival!

Call for entries
The call for entries starts on August 16th 2018 and will remain open until April 2nd 2019.

The Madeira Film Festival is non – competitive. Rather than present awards MFF offers delegates the status of ‘AMBASSADOR OF THE LAURISSILVA’ thus helping to preserve and create awareness of Madeira’s endemic Laurissilva forest.

The Madeira Film Festival organisation fervently believes there is no better place in the world to stage a film festival than on the piquant Island of Madeira and there is no better place on Madeira to stage a film festival than in glorious Reid’s Palace Hotel and the Municipal Theatre in Funchal.

The crux of the Madeira Film Festival is to pay homage to the resilience of Madeira’s endemic Laurissilva Forest by screening a slate of films which are expansive, unsettling and profound, films which will hopefully impinge upon the viewers imagination.

One of the most effective measures that can be implemented in order to raise awareness of the Laurissilva forest and subsequently it’s preservation is through the undisputed persuasive strength of audio- visual communication. The aspiration of the Madeira Film Festival is to become one of Europe’s foremost film festivals, by sheer virtue of location there exists an inherent capacity to attain this.
