December 1992. Few months earlier, in Bosnia and Herzegovina a cruenta war between citizens has started. In Verona, a bunch of friends who organize raves in abandoned spaces enlisted the help of their companions to cross the front lines to support the refugees with what they knew best, a New Year's Eve party 1993. Passing themselves off as members of an NGO, this group of 24 people descend beyond the front lines, overcame obstacles and remained unharmed by the many dangers that they - without being fully aware of it - exposed themselves to. Thirty years later, some former traveling companions, now bound by a lifelong friendship, return to the places of that journey. And while they discover the new face of the Balkan area, with its lingering scars, they ponder that undertaking: who were they? Who did they have become?

Il lavoro di Agnese Cornelio è stato proiettato in teatri e cinema, e Festival tra cui l'IFFR di Rotterdam, Burning Ice a Bruxelles, Het Theatrefestival di Anversa, Asolo Art Film Festival, Film Festival Dokumenteer a Yogyakarta, DOC in Tour (2021) e presentato in gallerie come Tegenboschvanvreden (Amsterdam), Eye Filmmuseum e Cineteca di Bologna. Il suo documentario “Fondata sul lavoro” è stato selezionato al Premio Gavioli ed è stato premiato come miglior sperimentale al Firenze Film Festival 2019.

Born in Italy, and artistically grown between Germany and Benelux AGNESE CORNELIO is a director who works in theatre and performance as well as in film. She makes performances based on contemporary plays as well as documentary theatre projects for German and Italian speaking theatres and for international festivals. In her theatre as well as in her filmwork she has an emphasis on physical performance. Agnese Cornelio’s work has been shown in theatres and cinemas, and at Festivals amongst such the IFFR in Rotterdam, Burning Ice in Bruxelles, Het Theaterfestival in Antwerp, Asolo Art Film Festival, Film Festival Dokumenteer in Yogyakarta, DOC in Tour (2021) and presented in galleries as Tegenboschvanvreden (Amsterdam), Eye Filmmuseum and Cineteca di Bologna. Her documentary “Fondata sul lavoro” was shortlisted at the Premio Gavioli and was awarded as best experimental at the Firenze Film Festival 2019.
