The Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts (ICAA) offers grants for screenwriting of feature films, aimed at screenwriters developing fiction, documentary, and animation projects. The total budget allocated is 8 million euros.
Grants can reach up to 30,000 euros for fiction scripts and up to 20,000 euros for documentaries. Forty-five percent of the budget is reserved for scripts written exclusively by women, and 25% for scripts in Spain’s co-official languages other than Spanish.

El LUSCA Fantastic Film Fest – Screenplay Contest 2026 es un concurso de guion organizado por LUSCA Film Fest, festival de cine fantástico realizado en Puerto Rico. La convocatoria está dirigida a guionistas, cineastas y productores interesados en géneros como fantasía, ciencia ficción, comedia y bizarro, incluyendo sus subgéneros. Acepta guiones de cortometraje de hasta 10 páginas, escritos en español y/o inglés, que sean originales, inéditos y sin acuerdos previos de producción.
La convocatoria abre el 23 de diciembre de 2025. Las fechas límite de inscripción son: Earlybird: 1 de febrero de 2026, Regular: 20 de junio de 2026, Late: 10 de julio de 2026 y Extended Late: 31 de julio de 2026. El festival se realizará del 14 al 21 de octubre de 2026.
Es un concurso de guion, no un mercado, pitch, laboratorio ni work in progress. Está enfocado en proyectos de escritura cinematográfica de cortometraje dentro del cine fantástico. La convocatoria establece condiciones de participación para ciudadanos estadounidenses o residentes permanentes mayores de 18 años que residan en Puerto Rico, Estados Unidos o territorios estadounidenses.

LUSCA Film Fest - Concurso de Guion
Munich Film Up! is an international mentorship and residency program for emerging filmmakers developing their first fiction feature film. It is aimed at film students in their final year or recent graduates (up to three years) looking to advance their screenplay development.
The program provides seven months of support, including personalized mentoring, online workshops, and a three-week residency at one of the partner residencies. Participants begin their journey at Munich’s Future Storytellers Festival, where they connect with industry professionals and fellow filmmakers.
The program concludes at the Cannes Film Festival, where projects are presented to the industry and the Kirch Foundation Award is granted, offering €5,000 to the winning project for further development.
Key dates for the 2025/26 edition are from June 23 to August 1, 2025. Munich Film Up! is a unique opportunity for emerging filmmakers seeking professional support and international visibility for their first feature film.

BIFF LAB
The Italians Doc It Better is a call for Italian documentary projects to be presented at the MIA Market 2025 in Rome (October 6-10, 2025). It targets producers with documentaries in post-production, rough cut, or finished stages that have not yet been publicly screened or distributed.
The goal is to promote Italian documentary cinema by offering a platform to showcase projects and facilitate international distribution across cinemas, TV, and streaming platforms. Eligible projects include feature-length documentaries, docuseries, and single documentary films for television.
The submission deadline is August 10, 2025. Selected projects will gain exposure to industry professionals, distributors, and broadcasters, increasing their chances for co-production and distribution deals.

MIA - Italians Doc It Better
The Cerdanya Film Festival announces the call for Pitch Links, its professional networking space for audiovisual projects in pre-production or production stages. It targets feature films, short films, series, and transmedia productions in fiction, animation, or documentary.
Projects with a gender perspective, historical themes, social outlook, or sex-affectivity, and those written and/or directed by women, will be especially valued. Dossiers must be submitted in Catalan or Spanish.
Selected projects will be presented on August 2, 2025, in Puigcerdà, during a pitching session before industry professionals. Participants will receive personalized mentorship and a €100 grant to facilitate attendance.
