In 1962, a conservative force against President Jango was articulated to keep parliamentarism while the lower classes suffered from political instability and government-dependent developmentalism years of JK economic heritage. The setting was inflation and difficulty finding primary genres such as rice, sugar and beans. The concentration of dissatisfied people in the streets of Caxias, Nilópolis, São João de Meriti and Nova Iguaçu began in the morning of July 5, 1962, during the general strike. The Riot Hunger, became known as the wave of looting the shops in the region, left almost fifty deaths, nearly half thousand wounded and nearly a billion of losses, as was described by the journalist Alberto Dines.
