Inspired by real events, GUIGO follows a couple (Bruno and Sofia) who, two years after the birth of their son (Guigo), still haven’t slept through a single night. What began as a temporary phase has become a permanent state of exhaustion.
In an attempt to regain control, they seek help from three radically different sleep therapists: a mystical naturalist who speaks of energies and chakras, a near-military discipline trainer, and a technologist obsessed with data and devices.
As each expert proposes extreme and contradictory solutions, the search for rest evolves into a satirical portrait of contemporary anxiety and the relentless promise of “foolproof” methods. Amid absurd advice, rigid routines, and excessive technology, the couple begins to realise that there may be no perfect formula — only endurance, improvisation, and love.
Based on the real-life experience of the family who lend their voices to the characters, GUIGO blends autobiographical intimacy with animation created through emerging tools, exploring new narrative possibilities in independent filmmaking.
