The Latin American Screenwriting Development Group #2 – Marieta is an international script development lab organized in Brazil and held entirely online. The call is open to screenwriters from Latin America, either by nationality or by having resided in the region for at least five years.
The program focuses on the development of feature-length projects, both fiction and documentary, at different stages of the writing process. It operates as a creative laboratory, offering weekly sessions aimed at strengthening the screenplay and supporting each author’s creative journey.
Projects must be submitted in Spanish, which is the main working language of the group, although advanced portuñol is accepted. The initiative is not intended for completed films or market-oriented activities, but rather for in-depth development processes.

Latin American Script Development Group
IsLABentura Canarias 2026 is an international script development lab held in the Canary Islands, Spain. It is aimed at feature film and television series projects in fiction, documentary, and animation, provided they are written in Spanish and have a narrative or thematic connection to the Canary Islands.
The call is open to writers of any nationality, therefore accepting international submissions. Applications open on January 13, 2026, and close on February 22, 2026, which is the final deadline to submit projects.
The lab takes place from April to October 2026, combining one-on-one mentoring, intensive training, and industry-focused activities. The program includes a welcome week in Tenerife (April 20–26), a training week in La Gomera (July 20–26), and a final pitch session with awards in Gran Canaria (October 19–25, 2026). IsLABentura focuses on strengthening projects creatively and preparing them for the audiovisual market.

isLABentura Screenwriting Laboratory
The Bogotá Audiovisual Market (BAM) 2026 opens the Rough Shorts call, a post-production editing lab for short films. Applications are open until February 23, 2026, with selected projects announced between April 20 and 22. The lab activities will take place from April to June, culminating in the projects’ participation in the BAM from July 6 to 10, 2026.
The call is open to Colombian individuals or legal entities, including directors and producers, and does not accept international submissions. It accepts short films in fiction, documentary, animation, hybrid, or experimental formats, with a duration between 7 and 25 minutes and a completed first narrative cut.
Rough Shorts is part of BAM’s Market Strengthening and Intelligence Path, providing selected projects with specialized guidance in editing, development, and screening preparation. The initiative aims to enhance the final quality of the short films and support their trajectory in international festivals and markets.

Rough Shorts - BAM
The Residència de Guions (5th edition) is a script development program organized by the Catalan Film Academy, based in Catalonia, Spain. It is designed for film projects at the writing stage and offers long-term creative support for screenwriters.
The application period runs from January 19 to February 23, 2026, until 3:00 pm. The residency itself will take place from September 2026 to May 2027, lasting approximately nine months.
The call is open to feature-length projects in fiction, documentary, and animation. It operates as a scriptwriting residency and development lab, rather than a market or pitching forum, focusing on in-depth work on the screenplay.
The program accepts international applications. While it promotes projects connected to the Catalan language and cultural context, participation is not limited to national applicants, reflecting an open and internationally oriented approach.

ACC Screenwriting Residency
Tres Puertos is a workshop with residency-like characteristics for feature film projects in the development stage. Throughout its history, it has held sessions in Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, and Mexico. The workshop focuses on both the narrative, aesthetic, thematic, and conceptual aspects of the projects, as well as on production-related areas and financing circuits. Tres Puertos does not work with thematic modules but rather approaches each project based on its specific needs.
