Nazarii Matiychuk is the conductor of a small brass ensemble located in even smaller, yet picturesque town of Zalishchyky, Ukraine. His little children collective is getting ready to perform a song called “Draw me the night” at the spring concert, but the rehearsals are far from going well.
The war breaks out, and so do soldier funerals, which every week turn our brass ensemble into a military one and give the title song a new, symbolic meaning.
The same old ferry that used to carry passengers through Zalishchyky River is now drawing night after night after night.
