Ahmed, who is Egyptian-American and suffered from ADHD as a child and the son of a famous wealthy businessman, and Maryia, who is also Egyptian-American and developed Schizophrenia as a teen and the daughter of an unsuccessful businessman, start to develop interest, admiration, and love feelings toward each other.

Ahmed decides to start their story and tell her about his feelings, but Maryia ignores him when he shows her his love in his eyes after his many trials to choose the suitable way to tell her his feelings. He tries to get revenge by putting the desks on hers but she also doesn't care.
After some time, Maryia falls and comes with her guitar to the school theatre and plays music and sings for him and he understands and stays outside and listens to her.
Maryia texts Ahmed after her rejection from universities.
With the effect of Ahmed’s friend to believe that she is playing with him, Ahmed gives an attitude that makes Maryia have a psychotic episode.
After being taken to the psychiatric hospital, Maryia's thought that Ahmed loves her is diagnosed as a delusion. She is also diagnosed with persecutory delusion as she believes her family and Ahmed are spying on her.
Later, Ahmed engages with a new girl which leaves him as he doesn’t satisfy her desires, which makes Ahmed experience a mental health crisis. He, as a patient, meets Maryia as a visiting volunteer and they have a conversation as she tells him that she thinks that he had a bad experience when he was a child.
Ahmed’s aunt, the psychologist who checked Maryia in the psychiatric hospital, remembers Maryia after Ahmed’s mother's description and she revises Ahmed and her reports in the hospital and figures out the reason behind their misunderstanding and how there was a mistake in Maryia’s diagnosis.
Ahmed, who was experiencing nightmares, researches on the phone about what he sees in them and has a conversation with his mum. He discovers that he suffered from ADHD when he was a child. The nightmares he had were flashbacks from his treatment experience and his memory loss because of his ADHD history.
Maryia enrolls at the University of Oxford to study for her Master’s. She experiences depression again and returns to San Francisco to get treatment.
At the same time, Ahmed also experiences depression. After he learns from his mother that Maryia has returned to the psychiatric hospital, he decides to go to receive treatment there, too.
On their checkout day, Ahmed and Maryia see each other from their rooms’ windows. They again communicate with eyes and facial expressions and Ahmed invites Maryia to go with him in the cabriolet. She accepts and they become together.
