El Concurso Latinoamericano de Argumentos LATINX 2025, organizado por el Latin American Training Center (LATC), está dirigido a guionistas emergentes, estudiantes y recién graduados de Latinoamérica sin experiencia en largometrajes producidos. La convocatoria acepta argumentos de hasta 3 páginas para largometrajes de ficción o documentales que aborden el tema “Lugares Latinoamericanos”. La inscripción está abierta hasta el 2 de julio de 2025, con distintas tarifas y modalidades, incluyendo descuentos para grupos en situación de diversidad e inclusión, y opción de inscripción social gratuita. Los premios incluyen dinero en efectivo, sesiones de coaching con la reconocida guionista Kate Lyra, licencias del software Final Draft y libros. El jurado está compuesto por destacados profesionales del cine y la dramaturgia de Brasil y Perú. Esta es una oportunidad ideal para nuevos talentos latinoamericanos que buscan impulsar sus proyectos y recibir mentoría especializada.

The Rueda Film Academy Program is aimed at emerging or professional screenwriters (individuals), of legal age at the time the application is submitted, of any nationality, whether national or foreign, who present initiatives focused on the development of projects, in feature film format and of any genre (fiction, documentary or animation).

The Unproduced Screenplay Competition at the 46th Havana International Festival of New Latin American Cinema is open to Latin American or Caribbean authors submitting original, unproduced scripts with themes related to Latin America or the Caribbean. Scripts must be written in Spanish and not have been previously awarded or published.
The call for submissions is open from May 5 to August 15, 2025. Applicants must complete the registration form available on the festival's official website: habanafilmfestival.com. Submissions should include the full script, a synopsis, and a brief author biography.
Selected scripts will be evaluated by a specialized jury, and the winner will receive the Coral Award for Unproduced Screenplay, aiming to encourage the creation and development of new cinematic proposals in the region.

UNPRODUCED SCRIPT COMPETITION – LA HABANA
VIVABOOK Lab 2025 is a screenplay lab for adapting children’s literary works (picture books, comics, or novels) into shorts, feature films, or series (animation or live action). Eligible applicants are Spain-based screenwriters with at least two accredited shorts, one feature script, or a broadcast series. Submissions must be in Catalan, Spanish, Occitan, or co-official languages, and include a bio-filmography, up to three adaptation proposals (600 words each), a motivation letter, and rights authorization if needed. Applications close on June 12, 2025 (23:59 GMT+1). Selected projects receive a €3,000 grant. The program runs in Barcelona from September 2025 to February 2026 and combines masterclasses, individual/group mentoring, and a public pitch.

VIVABOOK Lab
FICBUEU Residency is an intensive short film development program held from October 15–21, 2025, on Ons Island (Galicia, Spain). It targets filmmakers with early-stage projects and a first draft script (max. 30 pages). All genres and styles are welcome, with a focus on strong authorial voices.
The call is international, though 60% of slots are reserved for Galician creators and women are encouraged to apply. Fluency in Spanish is required; scripts must be in or translated into Spanish.
Selected participants receive mentoring, specialized training, and support to strengthen project quality and feasibility.
