The Locarno Residency is a program by the Locarno Film Festival supporting emerging filmmakers developing their first feature film. The 2025 call is open until June 3, 2025. The program has two phases: first, an in-person meeting during the festival in August where 10 participants present their projects to a jury, which selects three outstanding projects. The second phase offers one year of personalized mentoring, including online sessions and in-person meetings, with travel and accommodation expenses covered. One selected project will receive the Dopodomani Prize, worth 3,000 CHF. Requirements include being under 40 years old, having short film experience, and presenting a project in English for a first feature to be shot after September 2026. The application fee is 30 CHF. It’s an excellent opportunity for filmmakers seeking professional support and international exposure.

The Sundance Institute’s artist programs provide dynamic support at every step of the creative journey for individuals with distinct voices in film and episodic storytelling. Each program consists of labs, grants, intensives, sessions, and ongoing resources for artists to nurture their projects and sustain their careers. Through year-round activities, we provide the space for artists to create and share their stories with the world. Since our inception, the Institute’s programs have supported more than 11,000 artists and fostered a community for independent storytellers to learn, grow, connect, and give back.

sundance institute
Syncro Lab 2025 es la convocatoria de formación y desarrollo de guiones del Syncro Film Fest, dirigida a mayores de 18 años residentes en Argentina. Se trata de un concurso de guiones de cortometraje de ficción, no ficción o híbrido, con un máximo de 20 páginas (formato PDF, Courier 12, interlineado sencillo).
La inscripción está abierta del 3 de febrero al 7 de mayo de 2025 y tiene un costo de $7.000 ARS. De todos los proyectos recibidos se seleccionarán hasta 10 guiones, cuyos autores participarán en sesiones grupales de asesoría y desarrollo durante el festival, que se realizará del 16 al 19 de junio de 2025 en Buenos Aires.
Un jurado elegirá un guion ganador que recibirá $500.000 ARS, más servicios profesionales de postproducción (mezcla 5.1, color, DCP y exportaciones), distribución a cargo de Hablemos de Langostas y apoyo de envío de materiales. Los premios técnicos deberán usarse en el plazo de un año.
Syncro Lab es una oportunidad ideal para potenciar proyectos de cortometraje y conectar con la industria cinematográfica independiente.

Films in Progress 42 will take place on March 30 and 31, 2023 at the start of Cinélatino's professional platform, Rencontres de Toulouse. It is a pioneer device in the accompaniment of Latin American films in the post-production stage.
