The seventh edition of Rio2C 2025 invited creators and producers to pitch their audiovisual projects in categories such as documentary/factual, animation, fiction, reality, and podcast. Both Industry (for companies with CNPJ) and Talent (for individual creators with CPF) pitching sessions provided a platform to connect with executives from streaming platforms, TV channels, production companies, and distributors, facilitating opportunities for co-production, licensing, and distribution. Selected participants received prior training to enhance their presentations. Additionally, projects registered in the Business Rounds had the option to participate in the corresponding pitching session, increasing their visibility and collaboration prospects.

La convocatoria al IDFA Forum 2025 está abierta desde el 2 de junio hasta el 25 de julio de 2025. El foro se celebra en noviembre en Ámsterdam, como parte del Festival IDFA. Se pueden presentar documentales creativos, en formato de largometraje, serie o proyecto inmersivo/interactivo, en una de cuatro categorías: Forum Pitch, Rough Cut Presentations, Producers Connection y DocLab Forum.
Los proyectos deben estar en desarrollo, producción o postproducción. Se requiere material audiovisual (teaser, clip o rough cut), sinopsis, plan de financiación y estrategia de producción. Si el proyecto es preseleccionado, se solicitará más documentación en agosto.

Forum - IDFA
Proyecta is an initiative within the Ventana Sur audiovisual market designed to promote international co-production between Europe and Latin America. The 8th edition will take place in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from December 1 to 5, 2025, as part of Ventana Sur, with an in-person pitching session on December 3 and professional networking throughout the event. Proyecta accepts international submissions, welcoming producers from both Europe and Latin America with feature film projects in development (first or second films) in both fiction and non-fiction. Selected projects are presented to industry professionals, co-producers, sales agents, and programmers to help secure partnerships and financing. The call is specifically for feature films over 60 minutes and does not include short films or animation. For 2025, twelve projects were selected from a range of countries, highlighting the international scope of the program. The submission period closed before October, with selections announced in October 2025. Proyecta serves as a pitching and co-production platform within the Ventana Sur market, helping emerging filmmakers connect with global industry opportunities.

Proyecta – VENTANA SUR
The IBF Europe – Minority Co‑production call by the IDFA Bertha Fund targets creative international documentary projects. Projects must involve at least one European producer and one non-European co-producer, and the director can be from any eligible country. All nonfiction documentary genres are accepted, typically in cinematic format with a minimum duration of 60 minutes.
The next application deadlines are April 1, 2026, and January 15, 2027. Selected projects receive funding in three installments: the first payment (50 %) after contract signing, the second (30 %) upon submission of the rough cut or offline final cut, and the third (20 %) after completion of the film and submission of the final financial report. The first payment is expected between July and October 2026, while the remaining funds depend on the project’s progress, with final delivery required by December 1, 2027.
This fund supports international collaboration, encouraging high-quality documentary productions and fostering cultural exchange between European and non-European producers.

IBF Europe - IDFA
The 48th São Paulo International Film Festival introduces the first edition of its Works-in-Progress (WIP) program, targeting Brazilian feature films in advanced stages of post-production. The call is open to fiction, documentary, or animation projects in final phases such as editing, color correction, or sound mixing.
The WIP program aims to provide a platform where filmmakers can showcase their projects to key audiovisual industry professionals, including distributors, festival programmers, and international sales agents. This initiative facilitates the completion, distribution, and promotion of films, enhancing their chances for screening at festivals and international markets.
Applicants must submit technical and artistic sheets, synopses, a film excerpt between 5 and 20 minutes, and optionally, a letter of intent and distribution plan. The submission deadline was July 15, 2025.
During the event, held from October 22 to 25, 2025, selected projects will be presented in exclusive sessions and may compete for awards supporting film completion. This call offers a valuable opportunity for Brazilian filmmakers to advance their works on the international stage.
