The Mentoring Projects 2026 call by L’Alternativa (CCCB, Barcelona) is an international development program for feature-length nonfiction, experimental, or hybrid film projects in the writing stage. Applications open on May 12, 2026 and close on June 25, 2026. The on-site program takes place during the festival from November 12 to 22, 2026 in Barcelona, followed by an approximately one-year mentoring process with both group and individual sessions.
The call is aimed at feature-length projects (generally over 60 minutes) and does not include short films or series as primary formats. Filmmakers, screenwriters, and producers from any country can apply, making it an international open call.
The program functions as a creative development and mentoring lab rather than a market or pitching forum. It focuses on script development, dossier building, financing strategies, distribution, and audience design. Each edition selects five projects for participation.
