The Fundación RIO Call, part of the International Film Festival of Lebu, aims to strengthen the Chilean audiovisual industry by supporting fiction and documentary short films up to 30 minutes, excluding pure animation and completed projects. It is open to individuals or legal entities based in Chile, with a focus on projects from different regions of the country. Submissions are accepted from December 29, 2025, to April 15, 2026.

After the deadline, a committee evaluates the projects and selects preselected participants, who present a live pitch during BioBío Conecta 2026, between April 27 and 30, 2026. Notifications to preselected projects are sent approximately 12 days after the submission deadline.

The winning project receives a financial award to support production of the short film, along with visibility and networking opportunities. This call seeks to decentralize the Chilean audiovisual industry, providing space for creators from various regions and promoting both national and international exposure for their work.

This is a training‑focused lab designed for creators of fantastic genre short films — including science fiction, fantasy, and horror — who want to develop their projects through workshops, mentorship, and work sessions. The emphasis is on short films in development, between 7 and 15 minutes, with a first draft script ready at the time of submission.

The main laboratory activities will take place from April 6 to April 11, 2026, with preliminary sessions and individual work from late March to early April. Although based in Colombia, the call accepts international applications, especially from Ibero‑American creators, with priority given to Colombian talent.
