When Verónica was little it was not common to see a girl with a skateboard, she learned surrounded by men and had a great career as a skateboarder. This year he turns 33 and although he has stepped away from competitions, his life around skateboarding continues; She and her friends created UcanSkate, a collective that gives workshops to girls from indigenous communities, where they not only teach them how to skate, but show them that skateboarding and public spaces like skateparks are also theirs. For the first time the workshop is organized in CDMX for girls from an Otomi community, through contact with the girls, Verónica continues to build a legacy to break the gender gap and that in the future, there will be more women skating.
